Purpose of Position
The Director, Aviation Safety is accountable for the safety of Executive Jet Management (EJM) flight and ground safety programs. The Director, Aviation Safety is responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are established, communicated and trained, and that safety is a part of every job and activity.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversight and management of aviation and ground safety programs to include; Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program and others as required
- Directs data analysis and trending for ground and flight hazards. Work with Flight Operations and Maintenance teams to recommend safety improvements
- Directs and approves the development and analysis of relevant flight and ground safety related metrics to identify trends and safety program enhancement opportunities
- Leads and oversees all related investigations to determine root cause and make recommendations for prevention. Retains oversight of all investigations
- Perform and coordinate incident, accident and irregular operations event investigations. Work with local and onsite entities to include the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) when required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- 8+ years in an aviation management position (maintenance, dispatch, scheduling, in-flight), or serve as a line pilot, with a certified air carrier (91K, 135 or 121).
- Working knowledge of on-demand or fractional aviation program's operations, regulations, FAA specifications and technical requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively manage multiple work groups and projects.
- Experience with root-cause analysis and process development.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- PC Skills including MS office Suite (word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
