Purpose of Position
The FP&A Analyst, Senior provides timely, relevant and accurate financial and operational performance data and analysis to all assigned functions and departments. The FP&A Analyst, Senior is responsible for updating monthly reports, tracking performance against projections and working with department heads to develop budgets. The FP&A Analyst, Senior is responsible for preparing analysis and presentation of monthly financial results to the Executive Leadership team. Acts as key influencer on initiatives that improve profitability.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and reporting the results of key business units and key departments. Accomplished by monitoring trends through detailed analysis and review of revenue/expense, rate/volume, and profitability.
• Manages the financials for specific departments at EJM. Works with leadership team to formulate a strategy to reach financial goals and leads monthly review of prior month financials and key metrics for select departments.
• Develops and maintains financial budget and forecasting models for specific departments. Analyzes and interprets financial and statistical information submitted for trends, checking for reasonableness and accuracy. Reports findings and recommends course of action. Prepares fact based presentations that articulates financial terms in lay concepts.
• Advises department managers on budgets and forecasts, including ongoing monitoring of performance and ad-hoc analyses related to their function and provides recommendations on key business decisions.
• Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis for EJM leadership team and assists EJM leadership team with presentations for NJ leadership team.
• Summarizes analysis for leadership on workforce needs through analytics and metrics by department.
• Prepares fact based presentations that can be understood by both financial and non-financial oriented executives. Must be timely, well-written, and well-grounded in the practical applications of financial theory. Takes complex financial analysis and presents key points clearly and concisely to the leaders of the business.
• Identifies, assesses and communicates issues affecting profitability.
