The Fleet Avionics Manager position is based in Cincinnati, OH at LUK airport.
Purpose of Position
The Fleet Avionics Manager manages the Fully Managed aircraft navigational and communication needs (currently 40 different fleet types and 270 aircraft). The Fleet Avionics Manager has an in-depth knowledge and expertise in all avionics systems as well as optional installations such as aircraft connectivity solutions, cabin entertainment systems, etc. The Fleet Avionics Manager is knowledgeable in equipment requirements needed to satisfy regulatory requirements for the locations in which the managed fleet may operate.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages aircraft navigational and communication subscription accounts for our Fully Managed Fleet aircraft ensuring the proper service plans are in place as required for the aircraft and its anticipated flight profile. Reviews and approves avionic service provider invoicing for avionics services billed to our entire Fully Managed fleet of aircraft. Ensures the balance of cost and function is properly managed to client expectations using experience and discretion to make recommendations to clients as applicable.
- Manage and track data retrieval method for the FOQA program including the assignments of download tooling and maintaining proper operation of download equipment in the various regions across the USA (and world).
- Primary POC for the FCC and ASRI licenses including Fleet Radio Station, ASRI Air-to-Ground, etc
- Oversee all FDR readouts/analysis for the entire fleet and communicate and failures that require repair
- Review new aircraft technologies for both on-wing and test equipment to ensure we have best fit for cost and regulatory
- Review and monitor new avionics related regulatory mandates and communicate to the company
- Maintain and update as needed avionics related audits and checklists utilized for conformity and annual needs and ensure they are capture data for regulatory tracking.
- Input and track avionics parts, software, capabilities as a record or source for airspace and training requirements.
- Be available to serve on various Customer Advisory Boards as needed by the company to ensure leadership in the industry
- Review records of On-Boarding aircraft to verify capabilities for airspace requirements
- Must have appropriate knowledge and professionalism to meet with Owners to helps decide on options, capabilities, and pricing for their aircraft.
- Provide training to crew members to perform database updates. Also, maintain pilot database training requirements.
- Review fleet-wide invoices as they come in for correct discount structure
- Assist Flight Operations in building and tracking new airspace requirements across the fleet
- Control login access of all crew, mechanics, and support to all avionics platforms and software.
- Travel to aircraft for inspections, conformities, installations as needed to oversee specific avionics related issues that arise.
- Transfers avionics subscription accounts for aircraft joining the EJM program and activates avionics subscription accounts for new aircraft. Works with various EJM departments (Fleet, Owner Services, Flight Operations, Conformity) as well as our crewmembers to ensure proper preferences established.
- Act as the departmental subject matter expert across all regions to support the Maintenance Planning Team as well as Owner Services requests for future installations, upgrades, or compliance issues.
- Support our Out-based Technicians as well as our Crews on technical issues and troubleshooting efforts that may be required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to our flight crews and managed clients while delivering technical information clearly and in a manner in which the customer will benefit.

- Minimum 4 years of Avionics systems work experience
- Minimum 4 years of the aerospace/aviation industry
- Good knowledge of FAA and EASA regulations and requirements

- Aircraft technical and systems knowledge on all aircraft types
