Purpose of Position
The VP, Fleet Maintenance is responsible for team coordinating efforts and aircraft maintenance required to support EJM managed aircraft, hangar tenants, or transition aircraft and is the Fleet representative to Owners, OEMs, vendors and department managers for Fleet Maintenance on Full Managed and Charter Managed aircraft assigned to EJM. Supports Fleet Maintenance Cabin Directors & Maintenance Managers by managing the relationship with vendor maintenance at off-site facilities, as well as arranging maintenance assets for EJM Owners. The VP, Fleet Maintenance monitors the account for quality control and serves as a problem-solver for any high-level maintenance related issues that may arise. Ensure the maintenance production schedule is maintained and complies with FAA, company and best practice procedures. In this position, the VP, Fleet Maintenance assists with the strategic outlook of the account as it relates to hiring, aircraft maintenance and utilization, new aircraft assessment, billing, upgrades and cost analysis. Ensure fair and equitable assignment of accounts to three Fleet Maintenance teams to ensure safe and compliant maintenance practices. Responsible for compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process all safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.
This position is based in Cincinnati, OH at the EJM headquarters at Lunken Airport.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages employee performance and behavior and provides career development of Directors and their respective teams. Interviews and assists in the selection of new departmental employees to steer the team in a positive direction. Partners with Human Resources to identify candidates, interview and hire for the Fleet Maintenance Management department as well as be part of the interview team for account maintenance crewmembers.
- Manage the maintenance planning, budgeting, warranty work, invoicing and upgrades to EJM managed client assets. Works with the Conformity team, Human Resources and assigned Owner Services team to on-board the client, crew members and/or office employees and aircraft.
- Monitor and react to requests during the initial and ongoing onboarding of aircraft to EJM pertaining to maintenance status, aircraft budget, conformity, short and long term aircraft updates to accommodate owner and EJM flying requirements.
- Interact and comply with outside entities such as the FAA, EPA, OSHA, OEMs, Owners and vendors to ensure compliance with EJM obligations.
- Performance reviews, payroll, budget, hiring, terminating and counseling employees assigned to the Fleet Maintenance team. Prepare AFE if required for items over $25,000.

Detailed knowledge of the services provided by EJM Aircraft Management and Charter Management and the company operation overall. Negotiating and customer service skills. Strong understanding of aviation terminology and the business aircraft industry. A general understanding of the various new and pre-owned business aircraft and their operational capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, and purchase cost. Ability to coordinate with internationally- based clients, especially those operating on Executive Jet Management's certificate.

- Must maintain an A & P Certificate

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience with Mxi or a similar program
- Ability to adjust priorities of projects to meet the changing needs and demands of the organization
- Experience managing a team of aircraft maintenance managers in a Part 91/121/135 and/or military organization
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure
