Purpose of Position

The Regional Chief Pilot interacts as part of a mission critical leadership team addressing a wide variety of operational and organizational issues.  The Regional Chief Pilot serves as the expert and highest point of contact for the aircraft flight standards.  The Regional Chief Pilot oversees continuous improvement initiatives for scheduling, discipline, safety and service as it relates to the pilot population.  The Regional Chief Pilot is expected to provide the model of professional communications ability in every form and to build supportive and motivating relationships throughout the organization. The Regional Chief Pilot is a senior aviation professional and skilled pilot with extensive background in the day to day operational demands of a responsive, Part 91/135 organization.  The Regional Chief Pilot is a required management position as outlined in 14 CFR Part 119.69. 

 

Responsible for pilots in ME, VT, NH, MA, CT and RI. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

Reviews, incorporates and ensures compliance with all regulations and specifications applicable to the safe and efficient operation of the Flight Department. Engages in periodic reviews and debriefs of flights to determine root cause of flight and crew issues. Coordinates meetings off site and at the Company headquarters to perform crew resource management assessments and final resolution.
•    Has operational control in accordance with 14CFR135.77 as designated by the Director of Operations. Acts as the final authority in relation to the operational control of the aircraft. Authorizes deviations and ensures compliance with General Operations and Maintenance Manual (GOMM) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
•    Responsible for safety of flights as it relates to the execution of the delivered daily plan. Implements and incorporates advanced technology improvements and ensures compliance with all safety programs.
•    Acts as the primary pilot contact for Owner issues/questions, Owner Services relationship issues, Sales team questions and visits. Manages employee performance, behavior and provides career development of pilots, flight attendants and fully managed administrative positions. 
•    Assists the Director of Operations in developing, coordinating and enforcing operational policies, procedures and training matters.  Responsible to contents of and compliance with the Company General Operating Manual (GOM), Federal Air Regulations (FARs), Operations Specifications (OpSpecs), Flight Manuals and other pertinent information. Engages in periodic reviews and debriefs of flights, schedules and training to ensure the highest compliance standards.

Education

Bachelor's in Aviation Management or related field

Certifications and Licenses

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Years of Experience

10+ years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

•  Airline Transport Pilot rating; PIC experience with a minimum of 3500 hours. Must meet the Management Personnel requirements of FAR 119.69 & 119.71 in addition to the appropriate currency and proficiency requirements of FAR 135/91 and/or equivalent military experience.

•  Strong prioritizing and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple & high level priorities
•    Proactive decision making skills
•    Available to be on-call 24/7 with company provided communication device
•    Must maintain a valid Medical certificate 
•    May be required to obtain a FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type 
•    Upholds a service standard in a strict & changing regulatory environment
•    Large cabin international experience
•    Previous Check Airman experience
