Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is recruiting on behalf of a private client for a Global 6000 aircraft based in Bridgeport, CT (KBDR). This is a two‑pilot operation supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135.
The Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) serves as a peer leader within the client’s flight department, with a strong emphasis on effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and the successful execution of flight department administrative responsibilities. This role is hands‑on and actively participates in the flying schedule while fully upholding all PIC duties, regulatory requirements, and company expectations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and leadership presence, contributing to a safe, compliant, and client‑focused flight operation while partnering closely with EJM and the aircraft owner.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Leads Flight Department Success:
- Manages important client relationships while balancing needs of client and EJM. Proactively communicates as required to address current or potential issues or opportunities.
- Works closely with maintenance personnel, either assigned to account or company designee, to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events (scheduled and unscheduled) and regular tasks are completed (e.g., database updates, audits, checklists).
- Completes other duties as expected of aircraft owner / account (e.g., invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, crew schedules) in accordance with defined expectations.
- Supports flight department crew members in their understanding of what needs to be done and motivates people to achieve flight department goals while representing the EJM brand. Reports concerns or issues to Regional Chief Pilot.
- Handles flight department administration matters, including but not limited to supplies (office and aircraft), subscriptions, crew schedules, including associated communication with crewmembers.
Ensures the Safe Operation of Flight for designated Flight Department:
- Ensures crewing and trip assignments are compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes flight planning, performance and weight and balance tasks for each assignment, as required.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including the maintenance status of the aircraft, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service and meet any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate with crew and support personnel clearly and in a timely manner during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivers an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves service deviations.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges in an acceptable manner.
Maintains Proficiency and Compliance for Designated Flight Department:
- Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Ensures all crewmembers remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Ensures all crewmembers comply with company polices and appropriate audits are in place.

Certifications and Licenses
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range
The total cash compensation for this position is between $200,000 - $425,000 and will be dependent upon experience.
