Purpose of Position

Lead the Safety strategy to ensure the safety of EJME operations and to ensure the continuous improvement of the EJME management system. Implement, manage and monitor EJME Safety programmes to ensure all NetJets operations are performed safely and in accordance with applicable regulations and EJME requirements and standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•    Act as the nominated Safety Manager and focal point for the development, administration and maintenance of effective safety management systems;
concerning any significant safety issue;
•    Plan, implement and control the Safety strategy in compliance with EJME business strategy defined by the Executive Director EJME, to ensure that the company goals are achieved and the Safety activities are performed in accordance with regulations and company policies;
•    Develop and oversee EJME Safety Management Systems in compliance with the relevant legislation and company policy to ensure that high levels of safety are achieved within EJME; 
•    Ensure that the Safety Management System procedures and processes are effective and reinforce the EJME safety culture;
•    Be the focal point for all EJME Safety-related matters, facilitates hazard identification and reporting, risk analysis and management, alerting the Accountable Manager and the appropriate responsible manager immediately concerning any significant safety issue, and monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks;
•    Organize and support the Accountable Manager in coordinating the Safety Review Boards Quarterly Reviews, ensuring effective management review of pertinent issues;
•    Ensure that there is a robust Safety management training available, either produced internally or subcontracted, and that it meets acceptable standards;
•    Provide regular reports and metrics on EJME safety performance, advice on safety matters, publish regular flight safety information to all employees and give feedback to employees about their safety concerns and/or reports;
•    Report incidents, serious incidents and accidents, as required, to the regulators and ensure the initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence and accident investigations;
•    Guarantee the implementation and maintenance of the EJME Emergency Response Plan; Monitor and oversee services being provided/outsourced to NTA organization in regards to management of Safety;
•    Represent EJME at relevant safety meetings/forums and exchange information with safety organizations and other operators.
•    Ensure that safety is a part of every job and activity. Support the safety and compliance programmes, ensuring that any issue that may affect them is appropriately reported;
•    Other duties can be performed subject to being within the same professional career, considered related or functionally linked.

Bachelor's in Aeronautical Engineering or Engineering

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

•    University engineering degree, preferably in aeronautics or appropriate flight crew license;
•    Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the aviation safety management role in a similar EASA operator;
•    Safety Management qualification;
•    Experience in safety/risk management;
•    Compliance Monitoring and auditing qualification and experience;
•    Knowledge of aviation safety legislation;
