Purpose of Position
In coordination with the Avionics Specialist Lead, provide technical support and advice to Maintenance and Engineering and Flight Operations on avionics (electrical and electronic aircraft equipment) maintenance activities to achieve the best level of safety, performance, reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements and the most cost-effective options. #LI-Hybrid
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Supports in the development and recommendation of avionics standardization across the fleet to maximize equipment reliability and availability, and minimise costs;
• Support Maintenance and Engineering and Flight Operations with avionics-related requests;
• Supports the analysis and proposes avionics modifications across the fleet to improve operational efficiency, aircraft reliability and maintainability;
• Coordinates the implementation of mandatory, recommended and optional Avionics Modifications in coordination with the Fleet Products Manager, Avionics Specialist Lead and Flight Operations;
• Provides avionics technical support for the analysis of avionics related Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives;
• Propose and develop aircraft maintenance procedures and Engineering Orders based on aircraft reliability data and manufacturer recommendations to enable improved availability and cost-effectiveness;
• Review reliability reports and avionics-related discrepancies to propose improvements on avionics maintenance, aircraft MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and avionics modifications;
• Manage all Electronic subscription services (FMS NAV DB, Echarts, Emaps, etc.), assuring the best service and cost-effectiveness;
• Define database update procedures for crewmembers in coordination with Flight Operations;
• Manage all communication services (Satcom voice, Satcom Data and Datalink services), assuring the best service and cost-effectiveness;
• Assists the Avionics Specialist Lead in the 5 Senses related projects;
• Ensure disciplined working practices are applied, providing consistency and compliance with defined policies and procedures;
• Ensure that safety is a part of every job and activity. Support the safety and compliance programmes, ensuring that any issue that may affect them is appropriately reported;
• Other duties can be performed subject to being within the same professional career, considered related or functionally linked.
Core Competencies
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
• Engineering degree in electronics or extensive avionics experience (preferably supported by EASA B2 Type Licence);
• 3 years of experience in avionics in a Part 145 or aircraft manufacturer;
• Effective Avionics and Electrical Systems knowledge and troubleshooting skills;
• Good Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory requirements (ANAC, EASA, UK CAA and FAA);
• Effective communication skills;
• Fluency in Business English (written and spoken);
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
