Purpose of Position
The Director, Engineering is responsible for the development and administration of the NJA Engineering strategy including program, processes and, procedures. The Director, Engineering functions as a liaison between NJA and OEM and/or aftermarket engineering firms to develop and approve engineering dispositions/solutions. The Director, Engineering is responsible for development of a typical repair/intellectual property library to enable future application of previously purchased repairs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and administrate company engineering policies and procedures to ensure the continued safe and airworthy operation of NJA aircraft. Establish procedures that facilitate third party engineering support of unscheduled, line and base maintenance to ensure that repairs and alterations are cost effective, timely and regulatory compliant. Review and approve major repairs and alterations. Manage third party engineering resources including tracking hours and setting priorities to ensure efficiency. Oversee the handling of engineering data, operational documents and the technical library to catalog/manage and make available for reuse.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
Previous experience in airline engineering functions. Experience writing and implementing Engineering Orders, Engineering Authorizations, Campaign Directives, and Typical Repairs. Strong familiarity with CFR Major/Minor alteration and repair, DER processes. Experience in implementing Engineering processes, aircraft engineering, data management and program management. Experience managing 3rd party suppliers is preferred.
