Purpose of Position
Reporting to Cybersecurity leadership, the Senior Software Engineer – Identity Modernization and Automation plays a key role in building and optimizing identity and access management systems through a software-driven lens. This individual blends software development fundamentals with engineering, DevOps, and data science practices to drive scalable, secure, and intelligent identity and access management solutions across the enterprise.
The role joins a team of IAM engineers and partners cross-functionally with Cybersecurity, IT software engineering, and business stakeholders to design and integrate modern software development practices, such as infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and serverless automation, into our identity processes and infrastructure.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive Intelligent Automation: Leverage scripting and programming to automate provisioning, deprovisioning, access workflows and integrations with identity systems by enabling self-service identity for software engineering teams.
- Design & Implement Global IAM Solutions: Engineer and maintain IAM platforms including SSO, MFA, directory services, PAM, and behavioral analytics using modern infrastructure tooling and automation pipelines.
- Optimize IAM Through Data: Utilize data science approaches to improve access governance, detect anomalies, and support proactive threat detection.
- Lead and Mentor IAM Engineers: Provide mentorship for a high-performing engineering team, fostering development, cross-training, and delivery excellence across IAM initiatives.
- Contribute to DevSecOps Initiatives: Integrate IAM functions into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar to enable infrastructure-as-code identity models.
- Collaborate with Security & Business Stakeholders: Serve as a strategic partner in evolving access models based on organizational risk posture and operational goals.
- Support Incident Response: Act as a technical SME during incident investigations where identity or access is involved.
- Continuously Evaluate Risk & Resilience: Assess system and user-level access exposures and recommend improvements in architecture and policy.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Flexibly support additional security and engineering needs in a fast-paced, hybrid enterprise environment.

Programming & Integration:
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience integrating identity systems into custom applications and services
DevOps & Automation:
- Scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation of identity services
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) preferred
IAM Engineering:
- Proficiency in Okta, Entra ID, Active Directory, and SSO/MFA/RBAC frameworks
- Experience with PAM tools (e.g., CyberArk, BeyondTrust)
- Familiarity with PKI, CrowdStrike identity protection, and modern IAM governance models
Data & Monitoring:
- Experience using tools like DataDog for performance monitoring
- Ability to analyze behavioral logs and access trends to guide risk reduction
Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and business audiences
