Purpose of Position
The Technical Writer is responsible for drafting, editing, and maintaining regulatory and operational documents critical to safe and compliant flight operations. This role supports multiple departments by ensuring that policies, procedures, and manuals are accurate, consistent, and clearly communicated. The Technical Writer helps manage content lifecycle workflows and serves as a subject matter expert on document creation and publishing systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned regulatory and operational documents, including Flight Operations, Training, Safety Manuals, and other department manuals.
- Translate provided technical information into clear, concise content that is easily understood by end users.
- Edit for clarity, grammar, tone, and format while applying consistent language and style across all documents.
- Incorporate images, diagrams, and callouts to enhance content understanding and usability.
- Apply revision controls, approval formatting, and publication standards to ensure alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Adhere to project timelines and revision schedules; proactively manage workloads to meet established deadlines.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather input, review drafts, and keep projects on track.
- Maintain traceability between content and applicable regulatory references and audit standards.
- Archive historical content and maintain records of revision requests and content changes.
