Purpose of Position

The Trade Compliance Analyst performs global trade compliance (import and export) related activities for the company to remain in compliance with government and corporate import/export requirements, while facilitating the needs of the business. The Trade Compliance Analyst must be analytical and detail oriented, and must be knowledgeable of the regulations related to 15 CFR, 19 CFR, and associated government agencies, policies, and laws affecting international trade, principally those relating to classification, jurisdiction assignment, customs, and import/export practices, among others.  This role will collaborate with internal partners to ensure the global success of the organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•    The primary function of this position is to conduct appropriate research to determine, substantiate, and classify items for import and export by assigning tariff numbers using the HTS and Schedule B; and assigning jurisdiction, using the EAR.
•    Maintains recordkeeping requirements in accordance with applicable regulations including import/export declarations, details on product classification, and other administrative requirements as needed in accordance with regulatory requirements and/or company policy.
•    Supports the review process and the update of government declarations to ensure proper HTS/COO/value/ Schedule B /ECCN is declared.
•    Partners with Customs Brokers and both internal and external Supply Chain partners to ensure accurate and compliant declarations to government agencies while supporting corporate goals with expedited processing of import/export transactions.
•    Helps support the duty payment process by reviewing import declarations for accuracy.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

•    Skills navigating in a work environment principally based on technology are required.
•    Proven working knowledge of the HTSUS, Schedule B, EAR, and other international trade controls.
•    Experience working with a global trade management software platform, preferred.
•       Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate complex trade matters clearly and concisely.
•    Strong working knowledge of Customs regulations and logistics.
•    Knowledge of global Customs security programs such as, but not limited to; C-TPAT, Mutual Recognition Arrangements (“MRA”), AEO, or others. 
•    Demonstrated experience navigating export/import laws and regulations of U.S.
•    Strong understanding of INCOTERMS 2020.
